This year I work the midnight to noon shift. That means that I am awake for every sunrise. It also means that I am usually busy working in the lab and can’t go out to appreciate the beauty. Sometimes I can catch glimpses of the outside world from one of the lab portholes. Most mornings, the sunrises weren’t much to write home about. The weather was grey, the sea was grumpy. But then one morning, everything collided to make the perfect morning sunrise. It was a calm, crisp morning. The sea was calm, there was no snow, we were near the majestic Elephant Island, and we had finished working up the tow. I bring you sunrise at Elephant Island
